There are moments in life when we pray with all our strength, yet heaven seems silent. We wait, we wonder, and we wrestle with disappointment. The story of Lazarus in John 11 speaks tenderly and powerfully to these seasons. Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus, confident that He would come quickly, but He waited. To them, it appeared that the Lord arrived far too late. Yet in that very delay, God was preparing a greater glory than anyone expected.
When Jesus stood before the tomb and called, Lazarus, come out, He revealed something timeless. God is never truly late. His timing may challenge our expectations, but His purpose is always perfect. What seemed like an impossible situation became a stage for resurrection, hope, and renewed faith.
In our own lives, we face circumstances that feel buried beyond recovery. Dreams that have faded, prayers that seem unanswered, or seasons that appear stalled. Yet the Lord calls us to trust Him, even when the path is unclear. He invites us to believe that His power reaches beyond our limits and His love remains steady in every trial.
The message of Lazarus reminds us that God works in His time, not ours. His delays are not denials. His timing shapes us, strengthens us, and ultimately brings Him honor. When God seems late, He is often preparing a miracle that will reveal His glory in ways we could never imagine.
