Mel Gibson is Back With The Resurrection of the Christ

Gibson calls the project “very ambitious.” The story spans from the fall of the angels to the death of the last apostle, diving into realms like hell and Sheol to bring the spiritual drama to life. “It’s not going to be easy,” Gibson admits, “but I’ll take a crack at it because that’s what you’ve got to do.”

Fans will be thrilled to hear that Jim Caviezel will reprise his role as Jesus, with modern CGI techniques to account for the 20-year gap since the original.

The Passion of the Christ was a game-changer, making over $370 million domestically and opening the door for faith-based films in Hollywood. Now, with Lionsgate on board and Gibson’s signature epic storytelling, The Resurrection of the Christ promises to be a cinematic event unlike anything audiences have seen in a generation.

Stay tuned this could be one of the most talked-about films of the year.
